We really couldn't have hoped for more at the first www.voulezvousdiner.com in South Africa as we where treated to amazing food, amazing people and an even more amazing location at a cape winelands farm. Which just made it more special.

Thanks to the efforts of the host, who really loves our concept we had 12 guests, who also really enjoyed the whole event.

VoulezVousDîner is a new website in South Africa  that offers its users a unique experience, merging the art of cooking with the fun of socialising. A peer-to-peer reservation service, VoulezVousDîner allows users to connect and share meals in each other’s homes, all the while giving guests and hosts the opportunity to meet new people. Whether hosting a dinner to earn some extra cash, or attending one to experience some local cuisine, VoulezVousDîner makes it possible.

The process is simple. Users set up profiles on VoulezVousDiner.com. The host posts their dinner, including the menu, photos, date of the dinner and location. Hosts can even add a dash of personality to their menus by choosing a certain theme. Guests can easily search for dinners by city, with the option to filter by dinner theme. To book, the guest pays securely through the VoulezVousDîner booking system. 

The website acts as the perfect platform for hosts to showcase their cooking skills, broaden their social networks, as well as boosting their incomes. Guests get to enjoy authentic local cuisine in a more intimate setting and, at the same time, potentially enjoy a more competitive price than in a restaurant setting.

VoulezVousDîner was launched in France in 2010 by Renaud Maigne, who on his numerous travels was inspired to find a way to connect locals and visitors through gastronomy. Yes, the guest pays the host. The Host freely sets the price of the dinner. The VoulezVousDîner platform is a trusted third party that ensures a secure connection and payment between guests and hosts.

What are the safety rules?

All hosts and guests are necessarily registered on the platform. We check email addresses, phone numbers and facebook accounts to ensure that they belong to the registrant. Dinner bookings can only be made with a valid credit card. The dinner reservation is effective only after payment is confirmed. The host’s personal information (address, telephone number) is transmitted only after confirmation of the reservation by the host. Each member has a public profile that can be accessed by users of the platform.
We rely on our members to notify us of any reprehensible behaviour they might witness. The VoulezVousDîner Team reserves the right to permanently exclude any member of the platform following any conduct that is contrary to the terms and conditions of sale.
